>The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck<

Long Time, No Blog

Well, no excuses can be made for not blogging in over a week. I don't know what's worse, not having blogged, or using blog as a legitimate verb. At any rate, I have to shout out to my cousin from the far southeast side - Amy keep the blog alive! Congratulations on the completion of your degree, I'm sure the best things are yet to come.

We've been busy and slightly under the weather for the past couple of days. We're still not sure what it is, but SARS has been ruled out.

Kaylin is past the 11 month point and she has begun to stand on her own for brief periods of time. She has also figured out how to climb the stairs and to climb atop my guitar case (while it's lying flat on the ground, no worries grandma!).

This weekend should be stellar - golf is going to bookend it and some softball should be sandwiched between. Nothing like the first holiday of the year for us non-government employees.

For all non LOST-philes, the season finale was very good. Of course it was rife with unanswered questions setting us up for next season's premiere, you've got to love the cliffhanger.

Well, I'll be blogging more consistently and I will also have some more pictures to post. For all of the loyal readers out there, please stay patient while this chrysalis of a blog matures!

Ordinary Life, Extraordinary Living

Tonight I was happy to see my blog getting some much needed pub from my brother. As they say, all publicity is good publicity.

It's nice to read Tim's updates and see the world vicariously through him. Not many people get the opportunity to travel like he does and it's great to see the constant updates.

Tonight consisted of dinner, time spent with Kaylin and watching one of our guilty pleasures... Everwood. It's a show that we both enjoy and tonights episode was no exception.

Enjoy the pictures, more will come!

New to the Community

Hello fellow bloggers. Enough with the pleasantries...

Today was a great day spent with the family - watching Kaylin and Thor interact is great. They are about 8 months apart and this will be the only time in their lives we'll be able to see such a disparity.

Just a little about the blog -- it will be a chance for all to see the updated photographs and news from our little corner of the planet. I hope all who get a chance to read or view the blog enjoy what it has to offer.
