Hello again -
Maybe I should have mentioned before that this is Tammy, not Brian, so if you feel applause is necessary - make sure you send it in the right direction ; ) .
Quick commentary of the above photos:
Thor's dedication: Not the best "photo lighting" at Calvary - if you can't see who it is - Obviously Kevin, Hanna and Thor front stage with Pastor Steve, then myself and Brian, and Tim standing by as the honored Godparents.
After Thor's dedication service/lunch - we headed downtown for the Taste of Chicago festivites - I missed out last year since I had just had Kaylin. I didn't want to walk for hours, not to mention bring a newborn in that crowd. But we (we being myself, Brian, Don and Tim joined us later on) thought we'd try this year. If I am remembering correctly - we parked near Tim's condo (14th st.) and walked the rest of the way there. We thought this would be easier, seeing as bringing the stroller on the train is always a pain in the rear (plus, people give you dirty looks - why??? I don't get it...) and it's always nice to be able to leave on your own schedule. The walk was long, but not too long. Of course we got our usual ~ pulled pork sandwiches from Sweeeeeet Baby Rays (SOOOO good!!!). Then Jacob called Brian with his "hookups" and somehow skillfully scored us about a billion free tickets! So we got to try tons of new things that we never would have tried otherwise (the boys tried some kind of shrimp thing, watermelon ice, ice cream, more pulled pork, funnel cake (my fave - although nothing compares to funnel cake at Great America!), something on a stick... can't remember what it was - wait, I am thinking it might have been cheesecake?!? We seriously pigged out - it was probably not good, but we didn't care!!! It was a good time all in all. On the way home, we decided to try out the Munster, IN Fireworks this year, seeing as they are just a hop, skip and jump from our house (we could see them pretty decent from out rooftop last year). Dominick met us at our house and we headed over - a little too late... we were walking into the crowd while they were already going. But it was worth it - I love the fireworks - and it was a pretty good show. Then we headed back to our house and Dominick blew off some of his fairly large stash of firecrackers in our front yard, along with our neighbors. A pretty good 4th's eve after all.
