>The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck<

Today we got to meet our new niece! She is gorgeous of course!!! Hanna was walking around at church like nothing happened - she just had her like 3 days ago. Amazing what a woman's body can do isn't it?
I keep trying to put up photos (only about 4 times now...) and it's just not working. Hopefully I will have more luck in a bit.

Greatest Invention Ever???
She always wants to be sitting up and seeing what's going on - and it's kind of hard since she can't yet sit up on her own. This chair is so cool, if your baby can hold their head up, they can sit up in this chair on their own! I just love it and she looks so proud of herself when she is in it!
It's a girl?!?!
Hopefully we will be able to meet her soon and as soon as we do, I will put up some pix.

Long week
So Brian left for Columbia yesterday morning. So sad. The only other time he's been gone was when he went to Mexico the summer we got married (pre-kids). So this will be a very long week for me : ) On the way home from the airport (we actually were not even out of the drop off area), Kaylin says "mom... but I'm gonna miss Daddy..." I think I almost broke down in sobs. It's only a couple of days I know! And I know it's a horrible horrible thought, but I couldn't help but think in the back of my mind, how many women kissed their husbands goodbye on 9/11 thinking it would only be a few days. And how many more have to say goodbye for months when their husbands go over seas to Iraq. I guess it just made it a little more real to me for some reason... it wasn't that I thought that might happen to him, it's that I just never really put it on such a personal level I guess.
Anyways, on a brighter note - Brian called and he has arrived safely as of 10:30 last night. So keep him in your prayers that he would have successes on his trip and a safe flight back home.
Our last week:
Saturday at around 4:15 am I got the "Marie's in labor" call so I packed up and headed over (for those of you that do not know, Marie is my cousin). Not even 45 minutes was I there before Mr. Lang was born! She had an awesome birth experience as far as I am aware! Syd was really excited that the baby was "popping out any second"! I got the honor of holding Syd while she watched her little brother being born. It made me wish again that Kaylin was able to see Isabella being born. But being able to be there made me feel more like that if we do have more children that it could be this way for us again. I am so happy that she and Dave had such a nice home birth experience.
Since I was already out that direction, I then headed to my brothers house to work, then headed home to get the kids ready for our day at the pumpkin patch. Kaylin loved it as I am sure you would've guessed! There was this creepy looking black crow (see the photo) that Kaylin just loved! It was pretty funny, she kept asking him questions (which he couldn't answer because the costume guys can't talk of course) and trying to get him to dance with her! So funny!
There was also a little petting zoo (well, 2 goats and some hens and roosters) that she liked to. Then we took the hayride out to the patch and picked out some "baby" pumpkins and a big one too. All in all, a good day.
It's a Boy!
Born - October 21, 5:27am
10lbs 6oz 24" long
(and no, that is not a typo!!!)
in his defense - he did NOT look that big! I would guess 8 something.
I had the joy of being there to witness his entry into the world!
Marie (Dave and Syd!) did and are doing great.
She had the baby at home, in her own tub, Dr. Zumhagen was able to attend and labor was like 5 hrs. long. Wait a minute... wasn't that supposed to be my birth?!?!
I am sooo happy for her! And she has given me hope for if I have a "next time"!

Sneaky Sisters!
Where I had set her and where she was were 2 different places.
Plus, wasn't she on her back? She must've rolled her over a few times until she decided to leave her on her tummy - and the grin of sneakiness on both their faces was too funny!
Family Weekend
Brian's Uncle Tom (from California) and Uncle Scott (from Florida) were both in this weekend for a visit. Saturday afternoon we headed up to Tim's in the city (for the average person, it takes about 1/2 hr. to 45 min. to get there - for us? 2 1/4hrs. - the joy of children!) - Kaylin had a blast! I think the last time she was there was just after her 1st birthday - so she didn't really notice much about her surroundings. This time - oh my! The El. train was awesome, the huge buildings were awesome, all the machines, and all the noise - and then looking out Tim's window being up in the sky! It was just a blast for her! Her and Thor kept running up and down the hall chasing each other and chasing the uncle's - it was pretty cute!
Then on Sunday we had our weekly visit at mom and dad's, with the bonus of the out of towners and our Midlothian Uncle and Aunt too (of course Grandma E. as well). We got to see Abby and Dan's wedding video too, it was so nice!
Tick-Tock - the countdown begins for Marie! Let's count how many days we are going to be "overdue"! After your due date every day seems like an eternity...
Then Hanna is next! It's a race to the finish - let's see who's gonna pop first...

It's a Boy!
(although I am not sure of the correct spelling!)
Gina, Adam and baby are all doing great!
He was born at UIC at around 9pm October 6th.
It was hard going for a little while, but Gina did awesome!
He reminds me alot of Jack when he was born.
I'll try and put up more when I get some better pix.
